Getting your money back

Refund policy

Last updated 22 September 2026

The short version: until I have actually built something, your money is yours. After that you pay for the work done and we stop. I would rather refund you than have you feel stuck.

Before I start work – full refund

If you have paid the deposit and I have not started, you get all of it back. No reason needed, no argument. Text me and it goes back to the card you paid with.

"Started" means we have agreed a written scope and I have begun building. Until then, the deposit is simply held.

After I have started, before you have seen it work – pay for time spent

If you change your mind once building is under way, you pay for the hours actually worked and the rest comes back. I will show you what was done and what it cost. If that is less than the deposit, you get the difference back.

When you review it, before it touches a customer – same

You always see the system running on your own data before it speaks to a single customer. If it is not right at that point, you pay for the time spent and we stop. That is a better outcome than launching something you do not trust.

After handover – no refund

Once the systems are live, training is done and it is handed over, the work is delivered and the balance is payable in full. You own everything at that point, including the right to walk away from me and keep using it.

If something is broken at handover, that is not a refund question – it is mine to fix, and I will.

The card processing fee

If you pay by card, the charge includes a processing fee on top of the deposit. When you get a refund, that fee comes back with it – you are not out of pocket for choosing to pay by card.

You can avoid the fee entirely by paying the deposit by bank transfer, where that option is offered at checkout.

Hardware, for local installs

A local install includes a machine. Once that hardware has been ordered it cannot be refunded as part of the project, though if it is unopened I will help you return it to the supplier on their terms. If it has been set up and delivered to you, it is yours and it is billable.

Chargebacks

Please talk to me before disputing a charge with your bank. A phone call resolves things faster than a dispute does, and a chargeback costs us both time we would rather spend on the work.

How to ask

Text or call Eric on (512) 983-2344, or reply to your receipt. Tell me you want a refund and roughly why – the "why" is genuinely useful to me, but it is not a condition of getting your money back.

Refunds go back to the original payment method. Card refunds usually take a few business days to appear, which is your bank's timing rather than mine.
